Meet Rob Lane

With over 30 years of experience, Rob Lane's career can be divided into two distinct yet interconnected phases of tech leadership. During the first decade, Rob advanced to senior leadership roles within several Fortune 500 corporations, culminating in his relocation from the UK to Dallas, Texas, to establish, build, and grow a successful division of a publicly traded UK company. Over the past 20 years, he has been based in Canada, where he has served as the founder and CEO of four startups, leading their growth and scaling efforts. Additionally, Rob has devoted the last few years to advising and mentoring more than 600 startup founders and CEOs, sharing proven models, strategies, and lessons learned for building and scaling successful companies.

Rob originally pursued an undergraduate degree in engineering with the intention of becoming a software developer. However, upon graduation, he shifted his focus to marketing and business, seeking a career path beyond the confines of a purely technical role. Rob's functional expertise spans strategy, sales, marketing, product management, partnership and channel development, and business analysis. He brings sector-specific expertise in technology, retail e-commerce, health-tech, and digital media, offering a comprehensive skill set and a wealth of experience.

Likes and interests:

When Rob isn't working he's travelling, having visited over 40 countries with his long suffering wife of 30 years. He enjoys good food and great wine and has to balance this with many early morning runs to try and keep some balance. In the evenings, Rob loves nothing more than trying to apply technical analysis to company stock charts, with AI opening up a whole new can of worms
