With over 20 years in leadership roles with technology companies including StellarAlgo, Agreement Express (acquired by Frontier Growth and then NMI), Solium (acquired by Morgan Stanley) and Telus, Wendy offers invaluable expertise in rapid growth, acquisitions, and organizational changes. She leads the Unicorn Labs HR Leader Peer Group and sits on the UL roster offering coaching support to emerging, senior and executive leaders.

Wendy took a non-traditional path into HR with early career roles in operations, sales, marketing and customer success. These roles helped build her understanding of cross-organization needs and challenges in hiring, talent development and HR process, and make her an empathetic and practical people leader. Recently at Agreement Express, Wendy was at the forefront of extreme growth, establishing and then evolving HR foundations, riding the roller coaster of sourcing external investment, and ultimately learning to navigate three different ownership transactions. While at Telus, in customer success and product management, she learned the art of partnership as she played the role of “marriage counselor” between the mammoth telco and the agile, organic startup. Wendy has been leading HR in house or offering outsourced fractional HR services and consulting projects through her own consultancy for the last 10 years.

Guided expansion and restructuring in VP HR and Chief People & Culture Officer appointments for multiple startups and scaleups.

Likes and interests:

Along with an extreme fondness of Diet Coke, I have a love of science and can geek out on genetics and genealogy. I enjoy long walks binging a great podcast. I like watching sports, traveling and have recently been spending time exploring the UK. I’ve been married for over 25 years and our only daughter recently graduated and is off to university so we are entering a new phase that will be an adventure for all of us.
